Terms of use
Last updated 12 October 2026
These terms apply when you use the Bump Diary app or this website. By creating an account you agree to them, and to our community rules. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your data.
Who can use Bump Diary
Bump Diary is for adults. You must be 18 or over to create an account.
Not medical advice
- Bump Diary gives general information, summarised from NHS and GOV.UK pages. It is not a medical device and does not give medical advice, a diagnosis or treatment.
- Ask Bump can use AI to write answers. AI can be wrong. Check anything important with your midwife or doctor.
- If you are worried about yourself or your baby, call your maternity unit or midwife. In an emergency, call 999.
- Don't delay getting care, or ignore advice from your care team, because of something in the app.
Your account
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
- Only invite people you trust into your diary. Everyone in a diary can see what is added to it.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Privacy and your data.
What you add
- Your photos, videos, captions, comments and notes stay yours.
- You give us permission to store them and show them to the people in your diary, which is what makes the app work. We don't use them for anything else.
- Only add things you have the right to share, and that follow the community rules.
- We can hide or remove content, or pause an account, that breaks these terms or the community rules.
Bump Diary Plus
- Plus is an optional purchase made through Apple. Apple takes the payment and handles refunds.
- A subscription renews until you cancel it in your Apple account settings, at least a day before it renews.
- Plus covers everyone in your diary while it is active.
- Apple's standard licence agreement also applies to the app.
The service
- We work to keep Bump Diary running and your diary safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes.
- Keep your own copy of anything precious. You can export your diary in Settings → Privacy and your data.
- We may change or remove features. If we ever close Bump Diary, we'll give you notice and time to export your diary.
Our responsibility to you
We provide Bump Diary with reasonable care. We are not responsible for losses we could not have foreseen, or for decisions made by relying on the app instead of professional advice. Nothing in these terms limits rights the law gives you that cannot be limited.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
