How we write and review

Pregnancy information should be accurate, kind and easy to act on. This is how we make ours.

Where it comes from

We write every page in our own words from UK guidance: the NHS website, NICE guidelines (such as NG201 on antenatal care) and UKHSA vaccine guidance. Every week lists the pages it's based on.

Who checks it

A midwife or doctor reviews the guide before it goes into the app or onto this site, and their name and the date are shown on each week.

Keeping it up to date

Every week, we check each page our guide cites. If the NHS updates one, or a link stops working, we're told which weeks to look at again, and changes go out only after another clinical review.

What it isn't

It's general information, not medical advice, and it never replaces your midwife or GP. Numbers to call always come first when something might be urgent. We're not part of, or endorsed by, the NHS.

Spotted something wrong? Tell us and we'll look at it straight away.
